your question doesn't make alot of sense.

3/4 inch line will be 3/4 of the way between the end of the ruler and the 1 inch line.

As far as how many lines, that will depend on how the ruler is broken up. For example, if there are only 1/4 inch lines, then it will be the 3rd. If there are 1/8 inch lines, it will be the 6th. If there are 1/16 inch lines then it will be the 12. And so on.

so count how many lines between the end of the ruler and the 1 inch line. That will give you an idea. If there are 8 lines, then each is 1/8 inch

It can be different for each ruler. Here's how you find out:

Count how many lines there are going from the 1-inch mark to the 2-inch mark. (Count the 2-inch line, but don't count the 1-inch line.)

Divide that number by 4, and multiply the result times 3. That's your answer.

For instance, if there are 8 lines in each inch, then the 3/4 mark is the 6th line over, but if there are 16 lines in each inch (more common on wooden rulers or wider plastic rulers), then the 3/4 mark is the 12th line over.

Hope that helps!

the lines are 1/16 of an inch, so 3/4 = 12/16, so 12 lines

3/4 in occurs at the 13th mark
My ruler has a mark at the 0.
I'm including the mark at zero. That's why it's 13 and not 12.

If your ruler was marked in 16th's of an inch, then there would be 17 in one inch. That would imply that there was a mark at the beginning of the inch. SO........................the 3/4 inch would be the 13th mark.

Good Luck.
