I am a huge Red Sox fan...I am going to take this opportunity to stand on my soap box and speak some truth:
I do not dislike the yankees as a baseball or organization...they are statistically (most championships/wins) the best team in baseball history...I do not think anyone can deny this. They are also the most successfully financially. As much as I love Fenway, Yankee stadium is the current Mecca of baseball. Fenway soon will be, when the Yanks tear it down due to their greed.
But let me get to my real point...I hate most Yankee fans, because they are not even real fans of their team or baseball period. They merely possess shallow personalities that crave to claim that they are part of a winning organization to prove (due to their own inadequencies) that they somehow belong to something that is a winner. They suffer from the big-brother complex of beating up on their little-brother (BoSox) to prove their dominance so no one can see how shallow they are. This explains why Yankee fans have such little class. My hat is off to you Yankee fans...you team does have its gazillion championships and post season appearances, but because of your big-brother complex...you guys can not admit that your little brother has fought back a couple times and whooped your *** (2004 was the highlight of such an occasion). In real-life I was a big brother...and suffered from this complex for many years, until one day I put my brother in a snowbank and he seemed to just explode out of it and whooped my *** in front of all my friends. Since that day, I still "compete" with my brother like most siblings do. But I sure as hell don't taunt him anymore and we have become great friends and great brothers. If Yankee fans could get some class and learn a thing or two about the "true spirit of the game" then maybe, just maybe, I wouldn't hate them so much.

I DO NOT like the Yankees...I'm a Mets fan who is tired of all the bandwagon jumping Yankee fans I've met over the years...The Yankees have a "rich history" but do any of the "fans" know any of it? Many don't know that Guidry and Mattingly played for them before they became coaches...To many of the Yankee "fans" today, the team just came into existence in 1996...
I, on the other hand, have been following the Mets thru everything since the 70's...Talk about a long suffering fan...1986 was GOLDEN but unfortunately they had to run into that Yankee team in the WS in 2000 which gives these Yankee "fans" something else to brag about...ugh

As for the Yankees, I do not like them either. I am an avid Red Sox fan. At the same time, I respect the guys who play on the Yankees team. I cringe when people on this site impugn their integrity. They are professional ball players and are in many cases quite excellent. They should be respected, not necessarily liked.

I think it is fair to say that the only people that like the yankees are self centered egotistical moronic hyprocrites.
Of course they might one or two yankee fans who actually believe they are good---in which case they are stoned out of thier minds on LSD.
To all who say "26 rings!"
I say...oh yeah? how rusty are they!!!?
It pleases me to know that the yankees are now offically LOSERS!
they are NOT going to the playoffs this year or next year or the year after that, or even the year after that.
the yankees are old and decrepit.

I like the Yankees. I'm a Tampa Bay fan. The Yankees are one team that we seem to be able to beat. Everybody else gives us troubles.

I "dislike" the Yankees. As a Red Sox fan, it is my duty to hate them, but I am always amazed at how many others can't stand them, either.
