The Cabaret soundtrack from the Broadway Musical featuring the lovely and talented Alan Cumming.

Then there's the debut album by Il Divo. Beautiful.

I also love Use Your Illusion I and II from Guns N' Roses. I will always have a soft spot in my heart for Axl Rose, even if he does take to biting security guards as of late.

Easy... BlackStar by Mos Def and Talib Kweli. A friend hipped me to it back in '98 and I haven't taken it out of my CD player yet. I burned copies and keep one in my car, on my computer and in my stereo. I keep the original in storage so it won't get damaged 'cause I hate buying CD's over and over. Every track is a dialog on race, culture, pride, self-determination and spirituality. It's lounge music, for the most part, with Mos' definitive B-Boy slick thrown over Kweli's much harder rhythmic style. Neither of their solo endeavors have reached the perfection that this collabo did way back when.
I would have to say this CD was/is a source of inspiration for my own writing.
