I've read all of the books more than 10 times each - including all the books about the Lord of the Rings universe that aren't actually in the trilogy.
I've also seen the movies, 36 times in theatres.
I know, I know - how much of a loser am I? :D

I've been reading the trilogy, the Hobbit and the Silmarillion annually since college (about 25 years, now), and I saw all the movies, including that awful Rankin-Bass Hobbit and that horrible Ralph Bakshi Fellowship of the Ring.
The new movies were the best film adaptation to date, but the books are the best for those who love the story.
One ring to Rule them All, one ring to Find them. One ring to Bring them all and in the Darkness bind them!

Read the books through twice and seen the movies three or four times. Both are excellent in the their own way.

saw the first film before reading the first book, then read the rest before the others came out, have yet to read the hobbit

i have i read all of the books and saw all of the movies the 3rd is my favorite out of the book and movie

I did, and think that though there were some flaws in the movies, they were wonderful adaptations.
