If you're using Windows, look in My Documents. They may be in a subfolder of MY Documents called My Pictures.

Do you have a Yahoo Photo account? If so, look there.
Try this: send yourself a photo and remember the name.
Do the same 'save' as you did then clk on Start / Search and search for that filename. All of your photos should be there.
NOTE: make sure your filename is very unique so you don't get a lot of hits with your search. I name stuff "junk" when doing something like this. There is no other file in the computer named junk unless you have a junk folder.

By default, Windows tries to save in the My Documents folder, however, if you have directed it to save a file being downloaded from the internet to a different location, it will often default to the last location saved to. One easy way to tell is to try and do the same thing again, then when it brings up the save box, at the top, click the drop down arrow and it will have the current folder highlighted as well as showing the "tree" of where that folder is located. Follow that path and you should find them.

Also, you could simply try doing a search by the file extension (often .jpg, .bmp, or .gif for pictures).

Somewhere in the options of your web browser there is an option of where to save files when you recieve that "Save to computer" prompt.

For Example: in firefox: Tools-> options->downloads. And there are two options 1) ask me where to save every file. or 2) save all files to. and a file path is shown.

Likely you have this second option selected. Find where you've hidden them, and perhaps also set the filepath to somewhere more accessible, like the desktop.

If it's set to default, the pictures should be on your Desktop. Just close all your windows and they should be there along with your shortcuts. If not, check "C:\Documents and Settings" and go through each user and check their desktops as well.

If you still can't find it, then you need to remember where you told it to save your files, because that's the other explanation (assuming they weren't deleted).

There are a few, but heres one that will find every picture on your machine.

go to google.com (sorry Yahooligans)

At the google.com page, click on "more". On the next winodw, in the right hand column is Picasa. Its a quick download and will catogrize every picture on your machine.

Other than that, try downloading another picture, and look to see where it is asking to be saved.

If you know the filename of the photos, go to Start->Search, and search for the filename.

If you don't know the filename, but know the file type, do a search for all files with that file type.

If you don't know the filename or file type, your best bet would be to do a search by date (When was it last modified).

Start / Search then specify time period (e.g. within last month) and that you are looking for pictures.

Good luck.
