I believe in limited government. I believe the government's primary function is the protection of its citizens and borders.

I believe in the inherent rights of man and that they are preexisting and not given to us by any state.

I believe in free market capitalism and that intervention by government and other artificial forces only reduces its effectiveness.

I believe in the personal responsibility of the individual and that the consequences of your actions, good or bad, are deserved.

I believe in the pursuit of financial gain and that what you have earned is yours. How you chose to share it with other is your concern only. I believe that motivation of gain leads to many good and useful creations and that attempts to equalize gains only serves to stiffle innovation.

I believe in the value of life, both of the young and old.

I believe that private enterprise is generally more efficient and effective at many tasks currently undertaken by the government.

Ug, out of room!

Interesting, there seems to be no real concensus. Everthing from neocon (predictable, Bbum, since you don't know the difference) to moderate independent.

Generally, I wouldn't disagree with any of your principals.

One difference: I believe rights are inherent and not only are they not given to us by the state, the state is NOT to pass any law that limits my inherent rights, except where my actions infringe upon the natural rights of others (i.e. Murder, burglary...which is addressed in your first tenet.)

One minor difference is in the "free market" section - there must be protections for the consumer lest necessary products fall under the control of a monopoly ("water" is an instance).

The only thing missing that you may not have had room for is the protection of living citizens who are truly unable to care for themselves.

So, I would describe you as Libertarian. I don't see you as Republican because, Republicans like to use the law to restrict rights too much.

Sounds like the doctrines, by Officers of Our Country, already put into place, years ago. There have to be laws, so that there is not chaos, and said laws can be enforced. Only problem is that not everyone is on an equal playing field, and thus help needs to be in place, for those in need.

In response to your ignorant additional comments, your the one who had to ask people to define your beliefs. Shut up and do your homework.

Looks like You are trying to have People tell You that Your beleifs are awesome, wonderful, terrifice, and great. The facts are that none of what You stated was original. So can't help You.

Libertarian comes closest although a moderate republican might also work. Check out http://www.lp.org and take the test. Regardless of what political affiliation you think you might choose, always be true to your own beliefs, not the beliefs of a party. I don't know why the call them parties when everybody seems to be so mad. Go figure.

A person who knows that what they believe in. However, do you act upon all of those beliefs or is it just endless rhetoric? It is not what you say, it's how you live. Example, I'm gay but I am a Republican, I say that I'm Republican but I don't always side with the party's agenda. I say I'm gay and I live my life that way and I don't always agree with the community's standpoint. Do you think I would be far off in saying that I know what kind of person I am, that I know what I believe in? The differentiation in stating and acting are key. What kind of person would you think I am?

In theory a moderate Republican but they have changed their position recently and now believe in Gov controlling every aspect of our lives, so I guess that makes you a moderate independent.
