When I changed to SBCglobal, they said they would transfer my old emails and addresses. How do I do that?

If I can't get my old emails and addresses, I will have lost a LOT of old friends. Our old email address was [e-mail]

When Internet providers offer to import previous email accounts – their offer does not include webtv. If your previous Internet provider was, for example AOL, the email address book is actually stored on your computer - not AOL’s server. SBC software would simply import the address book from an AOL folder on your computer to a new SBC folder on your computer. Fairly simple.

It’s impossible for SBC to import an address book from a Webtv box to your computer.

There are a couple of solutions.

Copy and paste your entire address book into a single email. If your address book is really large – this may take some time. Each address is individually copy and pasted. Send the email to your new SBCglobal address or a friend. (The friend can forward the email at a later date). If you normally send emails with an HTML signature – Turn it OFF for this email.

It may be easier to just print the webtv address book. If you don’t have a printer – get a used Cannon BJ100 on eBay. It should sell for less than $20.
