We cant feed the entire world and it seems like the USA is expected to do this.I would rather teach them to grow and raise their own food then giving them or anybody else food. The next thing is teaching them to cook.

There are two underlying factors that have caused the present situation. One is greed and hatred among the tribes which dates back many centuries and still continues to this day. I believe the modern term is "genocide." The other is mismanagement of resources. This people have been eating the fruits and chopping down the trees without replanting them for ages and now most of the land is bare, water is scarse since there is no vegetation to keep it moist, and even the animals are having a very hard time.
So, my friend, you can now understand why it is the way it is over in Africa. The world has been trying to help in many way, mainly by private donations and efforts which are mainly procured by churches, not governments, although the U.S. government and some others around the world do help. Sending seed to be planted and other resources is a good idea, but they are usually captured and "sold" to the people by corrupt factions, the same people who are responsible for the greed and the genocide. And that, bud, is the reality of Africa.
Mr. M on Africa.

Because the rest of world lives under this socialist frame of mind where in those who work should be forced to support the weak and stupid. I'm not saying that we shouldnt help other countries, however we should help other countries in a manner which would not turn out to be a waste of money. We should be helping other countries develop technolgy and intelligence instead of just shovelling money into every Hell-Hole on the Earth.

I agree totally. I am a FISHERwoman! I can teach others how to fish, but I am not running around and catching their fish FOR them!!!
Education is key! Teach them the benefits of planned parenthood, farming, and education!
But for the US to run out and proivide for them? Nope, I think that's simply a bad way to go about providing for anyone!

Being self-sufficient is not something you can have someone else do FOR you! lol....

The money they get is taken by warlords. The people never get it.

Besides, most of them say the money they are given is creating a welfare state that keeps most of their people from starting their own economic ventures.

Um...it's a desert. You've heard of the Sahara? That's the one. And I gotta tell you, that's some crappy soil for gardening.

it's hard to grow things when it's so dry and hot that nothing will grow, or there's too much water and nothing will grow.
