I keep my bunny in a cage most of the time. Sometimes, I let her to play on the floor of my room, I put blankets and pillows around, so it's like hills and caves for her to explore. But i wonder if she even cares? How do I tell? Will she make a sound or do something if she is happy? She sure knows how to let me know she is mad!

She's a healthy bunny, I really just want some signs to look for, so I know she is happy, too.

Rabbits and rodents as well do something called bruxing when they are happy or nervous/scared(youd be able to tell if she was scared, but most likely not if shes playing with you) where they rub their incisors together. It sounds sort of like a crunching wooshing sound and you can see the mouth moving. They also do something called bixiing where they jump up and kick their feet together when they are happy.

How big is the cage that your bunny is in? They are supposed to get about 4 hours of excercise a day and a larger sized cage may help with this. She will show you if she is happy by cooing or circling you [ a sign that she is in love with you]. Rabbits often may do a "happy dance" which is a sudden burst of energy with a sudden jump in the air. You will be able to tell if this is a happy dance. Hope this helps

When bunnies are happy they so these hops straight up in the air. Usually when they are out of the cage. The will also wiggle their butts a little bit. You should let her out to play for at least one hour a day so she gets some exercise. These are great websites.

Rabbits make few sounds so they express themselves primarily through body language. If when out and about your rabbit does some jumps or kicks her heals up this a sign of happiness and playfullness. Rabbit people usually call these "binkies" and some of them are quite impressive. If your rabbit lays down outside her cage all streched out with her feet behind her - this is a sign of extreme comfort and relaxation (also not bad things). If when you pet her you feel her gently grind her teeth this is the rabbit's version of a purr and means "I am extremely happy".

Sometimes when they are contented, they will relax and grind their teeth. Otherwise, they don't make any happy sounds. When she's running and playing, you'll know she's having a good time when you see her kick up her heels a little...spontaneously jump into the air or just act a little silly. However, if she's roaming around the playgrounds you make for her, I'm sure she's enjoying it!
