Is it possible? I love high heels. I own sizes ranging from: 2", 3", 5" and 6" stelettos. I love my high heels. I also have your average platforms which have a 7" heel and 3" platform. I have no problems walking or getting around in them unless there is uneven ground or little stones that aren't able to be seen at a glance. I just want to know how to make my heels more comfortable!! I get around fine and all but after a few hours and in some cases after 10 minutes either the ball of my foot is aching, burning, throbing, or so uncomfortable I want to sling them across the room! Sometimes I have problems with either my big toe or little toe feeling crammed or that burning sensation. And on rare occasions cause me to have an ingrown toe nail. What can I do? Do you have a story to share? Something you did to make your feet feel at ease in your favorite pair of pumps? I don't think it's a matter of breaking them in anymore, and I have tried a few different brands of inserts...HELP! Thanks

You go girl! Personally I prefer platforms because they don't hurt that bad and for the most part don't put you foot at that awkward slant. I also love high heels. If I could wear them everyday I would. After prolonged periods I have ankle or back dis-comfort. But they are sooo very sexy. They are great for bedroom play and photos as well :) The only things I can tell you to do from experience would be:

-Make sure when you try on the shoe to do it at the end of the day (your feet are swollen at this point so you will know what fits best)
-Make sure there is a little room for your toes, avoid cramming
-Get either the insert pads, or the gel inserts for JUST the ball of your foot.
-Try those medicated bandaids with the numbing stuff in them for your toes (I learned this tip from a drag queen)
-Eat, work, walk, sleep in your shoes!!! I know this sounds silly, but how do you think models do it?
-Check out Insolia...I never tried it myself but it sounds like it might help. Let me know if it works out for you

Remember there is always pain to go along with style. Those designers make money off of us who are dedicated to wearing high heels! And we are paying to suffer with the discomfort!

Good luck and best wishes

Have your foot sized at a shoe store to make sure you are getting the correct size.

And leave those callouses! Especially on the big toe. They help make your foot more comfortable in heels.

Keep trying different brands or styles too. Strangely my most comfortable pair of heels came from Walmart and only cost $12.

I find a good pair will be comfortable for about 4 hours on my feet. After that my feet need a break. If a pair only gives you 10 minutes until your feet area screaming, its time for them to go!

I too love high heels. The best thing to is to break them in when you get them, but not to wear them for long periods of time. Say more than 3 hours. Feet get tired in general, so feet in the positions that high heels put them in get tired far sooner. Make sure they are the correct size, lots of times you might have to go up a half size or so. Try Dr. Scholls foot inserts. You can get them anywhere like Wal-Mart and most drug stores. Good luck and keep wearing your high heels! :-)

Hello Kitten, I wear 5" stilettos but usually no more the 2-3 hours at a time. This is what works best for me, I will take them off for about 15-20 minutes and rub my feet as well as walk around barefoot for a bit then I'm ready to go for it again!
If you can do this, it may help you along with the suggestions for inserts that others have talked about.
Good luck!

comfortable high heels is an oxymoron. Unfortunately heels just aren't comfortable. They are designed so all of your weight is concentrated in one very small area. To make shoes comfortable the weight needs to be distributed evenly...that's why wedges are so much more comfortable.

I think it's a personal thing. High heels have never bothered me as long as they fit right. If it's that bad, looking cute isn't worth all that pain and you should stop wearing high heels. Maybe you should see a doctor too.

I love heels to, not your type of heels though....you have to be careful. Wearing heels can cause your pelvic bone to tilt forward or backward which can cause a lot of pain. And did you know that wearing heels trapps fat in your lower back. So if you feel like your getting fat puches in your lower back the heels are why. As for comfort, try not wearing them ALL the time....and if you have a husband or boy friend have him massage the balls of your feet!!!! Its great.

dr scholls just came out with a shoe insert for heels, you could try that.
also, have a professional fit your shoe, if you haven't done that already. it could be you need a diffferent size, especially if your toes are feeling cramped.

Srry hunni hate to say it but..It hurts to be beautiful!!All I can say is suck it up if you want to look good!!If not buy some normal shoes!!!The reason why your feet hurt is your putting all your weight on your feet and placeing your feet in positions they don't want to go!!
