I am really really thirsty and no matter what I try to drink, rather it be soda, or water, or gatorade, or flavored water... nothing seems to appease my thirst... Soda seems to sweet and too carbonated, diet soda is too bitter, water is to bland... I am constantly getting dehydrated because of it... is there anything that anyone can recommend to help with this thirst problem?

try some crystal lite, get the powder that you mix with the water and then try mixing different amounts until you get a taste you like

Carbonated beverages contain sodium, so stop drinking sodas... they are dehydrating you. Water is the best option. It may be bland, but if you are truly thirsty is should satiate your body. Maybe your issue is more mental perception... you don't like the taste of these drinks so your brain does not feel satisfied. Ice cold milk is a big thirst quencher for me, especially 1%.

If you are truly feeling dehydrated, you should definitely see a doctor because (as all those prescription medication commercials say) it could be a sign of a serious condition. Best wishes!

First see your doctor to make sure you don't have diabetes. Excessive thirst is often a sign.

Otherwise, keep trying any kind of fluids that appeal to you. I know Gatorade is too sweet for my liking, but I put a little in some water and it tastes better. Try squeezing some lemon, lime, or orange into plain water.

if you are constantly drinking fluids and cant seem to shake the thirst feeling then i would suggest to go to the doctors for a check. that could be a number of unhealthy reasons. as far as what different fluids to drink.. id say try iced tea. it is full of water which your obviously needing and yet it has some flavor to it. you can add sugar with lemon or lime to it to add some more taste. you can try some fruit juices as well.

This may sound wierd but what is your sodium intake? It causes cells to retain water. If you are on a no sodium diet that could be the cause. Water is the best for you tho. Hope this helps. P.S. I'm not telling you to go eat a bunch of salt but you need some sodium for your body to work properly. Also you might want to see a doctor.

Polydipsia, the problem you describe, has several causes but probably one of the most common is diabetes.

Have you been losing weight?
Do you pee an awful lot?

These are other features in type 1 diabetes (usually onset in younger people).

Are you grossly overweigth?
Do you pee an awful lot?

These are features in type 2, mature onset diabetes.

Yes, see someone who can check you fasted serum glucose.
You need to fast for eight hours before the sample is taken.
If your Glucose then is >7.0 you are diabetic; or if a random glucose is >11.0 you are diabetic.

It needs investigating and treating properly.

You could be diabetic, if you want to see if that is true, you can go to the pharmacy and buy glucose detecting urine dipsticks. (ask the pharmacy) if the strips show that you have glucose in your urine, I would go to the nearest emergency room or call your doctor immediately and let them know. This is a medical emergency and the major sign of diabetes when initially detected is excessive thirst. No one should have glucose in their urine, unless of course your are a newly diagnosed or uncontrolled diabetic.. Go to the store NOW>>> Good luck!

if youre thirsty just drink something.. i find that if i put a lot of ice in my water i enjoy it much more that way. instead of drinking soda or gatorade with your meals, drink water. it will keep you hydrated the longest.

I love flavored seltzer water, not the kind with splenda just carbonated water and natural flavoring. It can be found in most grocery stores.
