For those of you who don't know what my last question was, look it up and read the answers. "Why are people so opposed to homosexuality"

My new question is this:

Why do people not realize that homosexuality has occured in nature, churches, and even different societies for thousands of years?

People realize it. It still makes them uncomfortable. On some level they, hell all of us, like order. I did not say natural order, but just some form of structure. In a society that has long oppressed women it is not difficult to see the hang up.

Men are, not to be too graphic, expected to penetrate. It is uncomfortable for many men to imagine being on the other side. It is also considered feminine. That is why hetero males often view even the most macho homosexual as a fairy or sissy.

It is not an excuse but it is a large part of the hang up. Homophobia is very male dominated. In this instance, religion is often used as an excuse. To be clear the Bible does not condone the behavior, but it does not condone many things that seem to be more tolerable to society.

Oh don't go there. I'm not saying that I am pro or con on the issue of homosexuality but don't use that fact that it has taken place throughout history. There are a lot of thngs that were done in the past that most of us are thankful are not accepted today. The fact of the matter is that if God had placed Adam and Ben in the Garden of Eden, we wouldn't even be having this discussion today as none of us would be here.

For some ignorance really is bliss I suppose... how sad! They truly do NOT want to know! I believe that ANYTHING that is suppressed, repressed, hidden or quashed in any way can only end badly. That might seem like a huge over simplification, but whenever any part of someone is disregarded you run the risk of missing out on something wonderful.

Homosexuality is the easy way out of trying things out with the opposite sex. They don't want to hurt anymore and someone has fed into their minds that only someone of the same sex has the ability to understand them better. They promise them a perfect life when in fact its worse because its just against nature. Its a perversion. Its just the way you get off. If you develop feeling from someone of the same sex its only because you forget what it is to have friends. You can fall in love with friends and not have a relationship with them.

because there are more pressing matters at hand in the world just now. moreover, i believe the ruckus over & against homosexuality to be a byproduct of organised religion.

however faint the agenda in the average earthling, if there is a strongarm of organised religion in the persons past, that institutionalised mentality is hard to break.
