I doubt it. If you look at the covers of old Popular Science and Popular Mechanics magazines going back for the past thirty or fifty years, they kept saying, In the year 2000, you won't own a car and you won't have to drive to the airport! You will just strap on your personal jet belt or take off in your personal hovercraft from home!

Well, it's been and gone the year 2000, already, and where are all these wonders our ancestors promised us that technology would develop? What a rip off. They just published THOSE articles when they ran out of worthwhile stuff to publish....

I have read articles since the 1940's that flying cars will become standard soon. They all fell flat. One reason is that they were less safe than a car. The second is that they are always more expensive, the third is that for short hops they are not much of an improvement.

even now there is a flying car. But that car is not fly as a plane or a helicopter. but it is possible to fly short distance to get rid of traffic jam.

If they had a really sophisticated navigation system there might be a possibility of having PFM's.Press a button and you go to that destination whilst steering around others.
