Every time I see a question on here about politics, its nothing but an attack on the opposing party.....why do libs do this, why do cons do that. Giving your opinion is one thing.....but substituting it with your seething hatred for others is NOT a platform.

I agree with Jim W, it began with the rise of Talk Radio culture in the early '90s under Clinton. Instead of policy critiques, the most popular political debte in the country became insults about accents and hair-dos. Even legitimate points are hidden under insults. After years of one-sidedness, the left began following suit, so now we have two sides that choose to shout insults at each other rather than discuss anything of actual worth.

The rise of people like Ann Coulter over people like George Will (who can still piss me off, but I respect him because he uses evidence and argument to make his points) is only the sad proof. Same thing on both sides.

I seriously think that it is the atmosphere in this country right now that you have to fight about everything. Congress can't agree, people got tired of being dissed by the Conservatives for everything and they all decided the only way is to YELL in print. Even when I ask people not to rant but to give a well thought out answer, it doesn't happen. After a while you start to behave the same way. I do try to watch myself but sometimes it's so hard to do. And I also feel that this is just what GWB set up, because if we are arguing with one another no one is watching him too closely.

A lot of times those questions are serious. I've asked stuff like that in an attempt to try to understand the opposing side.

When the first caveman decided that he wanted the prized rump roast of some baboon that he and his tribesmen had run off a cliff. The rest accused him of being an elitist and asked him who elected him president of the clan.

1992. Rush Limbaugh couldn't be president because of his looks, and he attacked Clinton, who is imperfect also, and it snowballed from there.
