Pitchers have a huge advantage the first couple of times they face a team....
The kid looks like he's got really good stuff...
We'll find out just how good the second half, when he starts to pitch against teams for a second and third time....Baseball is all about the ability to adjust, constantly adjust.. The ones who can survive the ones who can't, don't last very long....Unless of course they play for the KC Royals...

It depends on how you define "best pitcher in MLB" right now. He is currently pitching better than anyone in baseball at the moment, but he certainly isn't the best pitcher in baseball overall.
He has great stuff and will no doubt be good for a long time, but once people start to adjust to him and he'll hit the usual (for all pitchers, especially rookies) bumps along the road of a long season his numbers will fall back a bit.
It's hard to say the best pitcher in the game didn't make the all-star game this year and he certainly won't win the Cy Young. Also, If you were starting a franchise with one pitcher, you wouldnt pick Liriano.

Only time will tell. Liriano is just a rookie, but being able to learn from Santana will help. Liriano's delivery is a spittin image of Santana. If he can keep it up he will be a sure thing for cy young and rookie of the year. If the Twins can manage to keep scoring runs for him I dont foresee him having any problems this year.

No he's just going through a good part of the season in which he hasn't faced any good teams. He will not have a good second half of the season.
