Rose Art, There are also many different coloring and art stuff out there and some of it (well most) is for both ages, you can still do some of the kid ones I think some they make way too hard for kids in the first place.

I think grown up's have had 'colouring in' since the 70's but in order to convince themselves that it's more sophisticated, they call it 'Painting by numbers' you can get sets in arts and craft shops. I'm sure they would never find out if you chose to use crayons or felt-tips - and they have some great prints of old classics. (which you can insist that you did - why not? You coloured it didn't ya!)

Go to a bookstore and look for Mandala coloring books, might be in the metaphysical section. These are great books for coloring in for adults. In fact, I started my latest career by doing this very thing. Mandalas are like Kaleidoscope designs and are very mesmerizing to color. There are many themes, from Celtic, American Indian, Tibetan, Meditation, Healing, etc. as mandalas cross many cultures. Watch out, you'll get hooked.

I find colouring book pictures are useful for glass painters, so the same may be true in reverse - try Chantal's glass painting page for some more mature images - most of them are free to download:

Some of them are very intricate, some less so.

Try looking in the art books at the preliminary sketches and photo copy the ones before they are shaded or colored also if you like to color you will probably also like to draw start off by tracing then move to copying freehand then make up your own art. You will enjoy it.

Consider making your own. Depending on what you prefer, get a roll of butcher paper, a drawing pad, or some artist's canvases and some permanent markers and pencils. Pencil in something and then trace it with permanent marker. Fill it in with crayons.
