The idea of Communism relies on a belief that the vast majority of humans are good at heart & willing to share and work together & put the common good first. But even in theory, Communism leaves a power vacuum at the top, one that has been consistently filled by a tyrant when this form of government has been put in practice. All the good intentions of Communism then go down the drain as the tyrants abuse the power that the system never intended to invest in one person or small group.
My personal belief is that there is some good and some bad in most people: I'm not a complete cynic. But as was written in Federalist #51, "If men were angels, no government would be necessary." Communism envisions no government being necessary, but it follows that for Communism to work, we would have to have wings and halos (harps optional.) Instead, we need to have a non-Communist government to ensure rule of law, liberty and justice. Just my take on it.

The idea that there is no such thing as an individual? The idea that led to the murder of over 200 million people in the past 60-70 years? That idea? It's swell

The idea is noble... you should read the Communist Manifesto by Karl Marx to learn more. Unfortunately, when put into practice, the outcome is less than plesant.
in a world where people are willing to do their share to help themselves and others, it could work... but humans by nature are selfish...

If it were run correctlly it would be the best political system in the world. The State would take care of you and you would have nothing to worry about. Your housing, your bills would be paid for and there would be food on the table. Your only resposibilty would be going to work.

Communism, facism, and socialism have FAILED everywhere they have been tried. Why? They take the human free spirit out of the equation.
Capitalism is the ONLY way to go. Anyone who says anything else (like Kookoo Bananas) is an idiot.

I don't like it, it is a repressive society, It also is very open to corruption.
I like the fact that i can go open say a restaurant for example, become successful and not have interference from the government, i pay my taxes, obey the health laws and live a successful life.

Can work in a small society bound one to another by ties of loyalty and affection. Cannot work in a large impersonal society. There need to be incentives for productivity.

I think that communism was an attempt to deny and defy human nature, and thus it was and will always be condemned to failure. Also, I think that it presumes that humans are inherently bad - I don't.

its a very idealistic idea, a very optimistic view.
i like it in the fact that everyone would have their basic needs fulfilled, however everyone being the same is ridiculous, it cannot be expected for everyone to be unselfish all the time, it defies basic human instinct.
