Find out where the current players are playing their pickup games are this summer. Be at the gym or the park when they show and go to work on them. Introduce yourself to the coach and ask directly when there might be a time when you could work out with the players andf try out for the team. Let him know now so they can spot you before preseason rush.

At the University of Texas, the b-ball players have a lot of pick up games. They probably do the same at your school. Go to them. Play well. Be affable. Get noticed.

Of all the sports to walk on to, this is the hardest (well, maybe besides football). Good luck, you'll need it.
