To put it into perspective...
Imagine the Earth is the size of a grape:
the moon would be a pea 16 inches away,
Jupitor would be a grapefruit .5 mile away,
the Sun would be a 4 ft. ball 490 ft away,
Pluto (the farthest planet) would be over 4.5 miles away.
btw... the nearest star? 24,000 miles away.

actually there are 2 planets out beyond pluto that they have recently found and one of them is bigger than Pluto but I forget their names and I'm too lazy to look them up so sorry.
The closest is venus.
