If anyone has it, could you tell me how great a deal it really is? At only $15.95 a month, is it a crappy service? I need a new ISP, but one that's really cheap.

I used to have the dial-up @ $10.95 per month. (Wasn't aware they offered a high-speed version.) It was OK, no better no worse than most others but I didn't feel it was as good as AT&T Worldnet. Now I have Verizon DSL for $14.95 per month, same as I was paying for AT&T dial-up! Anyway, back to PeoplePC. I gave it up after the free introductory period. As I said, it was OK but nothing special. Customer service was a nightmare, in my experience. (The guy gave me a bit of a hard time when I wanted to cancel but that is fairly common with many of the ISP providers. At least it appeared I wasn't calling Bangalore!)
Also, to make a long story short, I ended up having to totally restore my computer to it's original configuration with the CDs supplied with the computer because there were some curious little remnants of that ISP that I couln't get rid of! Hard to explain that but, suffice to say, I wasn't happy and can't give it my own personal stamp of approval but I'm sure plenty people are happy with it.
(Interestingly enough, the worst ISP for me was Compuserve, a version of AOL. I was, however, quite happy with Netscape, also an AOL brand!) Of course, I am talking dial-up in all of these cases and perhaps what you are referring to is a different type of connection. In short, for DSL, I'd recommend Verizon. For dial-up, I'd recommend AT&T.

I only pay $10.95 for my PeoplePC account ($15.95 is for dial-up plus the extras, right?). It's decent service, mostly reliable. If a problem does occur, you may have difficulties getting an intelligent answer from Tech Support (of course, it depends on the severity of the problem). The non-tech customer service is top notch. Once, I asked them to move the billing date because I was dirt broke, and the rep says 'sorry, we can't move the date, but what i'll do is give you a free month of service.' I don't know of any other ISP that will do that.

I am not a big fan of People PC. Look for a ISP that does not requires special software to be installed. I always prefer to use an ISP that can be used by simply configuring windows DUN.

It's a basic Internet service provider. If cheap is what your looking for Net Zero offers a basic plan for $9.95 a month and their upgraded version is only $14.95 a month, still cheaper then People PC

Look in Internet for ISP in your area.

If broadband is impossible, then I'd do earthlink or netscape, I haven't personally ever used people PC

I used to work for them... It is really good... Are you getting highspeed or an upgrade cause they might be able to get it less for you.
