How do I get access to the rivers, can I land on a bank and camp,do I need to inform the river owner (if there is one) I am useing his river

Most rivers and waterways require a licence which is inspected each time you traverse a lock. the license for a canoe should be around £50 per year depending upon the agency and size of the craft. try www.environment-agency.gov.uk for more info. I believe temporary licences are also available.

Your ok to go on all rivers but camping has to be done on a proper campsite as most land is privite but most have sites all along them anyway
