I honestly think that it depends on the emotional maturity of the child/ren involved. I don't believe there is any blanket answer. Every parent should use their best judgement when it comes to movies. There are some children who cannot differentiate between the movies and reality and can be a danger to themselves and to others if they try to recreate what they watch on television or in the movies. Now, I do think that 4 is a little young. I wouldn't say that it would give them nightmares, although it could, you never really know. However, and I must stress this, I think few children under the age of 7 could truly appreciate a PG-13 movie. It makes me so frustrated to see parents bring their young children to watch those movies and the entire time, the children are not paying attention, squirming in their seats, or worse .. talking!

I think that 4 is probably too young to see this movie. I would say the youngest age a kid should see this movie is around age 7 or 8. but it also depends on the children too. I mean, some 9-10 year olds might be scared while a 4-5 year old loves it. It depends on the child; and the parents.

Its rated PG-13 so anywhere from 9 to infinity. I'm going to go see Dead Man's Chest, which is reffering to Davy Jone's chest, today. NO way can an Infant or a 4 year old watch this movie. It probably isn't scary but the images and Sword fighting scenes can scare them. If they start crying then the movie will be ruined by one idiotic parent. The noise can scare them.

The perfect age to see that movie is 16. 16 year old girls will love Johnny and Orlando, and 16 year old boys will love Kiera.
I think a 4 year old could see this movie. I saw a little 4 year old today dressed as a pirate.

Noooo! Johnny Depp signed for it like awhile in the past! They wont go on with the movie without Johnny, just suppose about it, he's the motive most persons went to look the first one. So if johnny isnt in it, there can be no selection for me if i will have to go or now not, on the grounds that there wouldnt be a movie without him

The PG-13 Rating suggests that Parents Strongly Cautioned & that some material may be inappropriate for children under 13. I would say let the parents decide if this is a movie for a 4-year-old to see. You have to decide what's best for your child & determined what they can & cannot see. Decide what's best for your children's viewing pleasures.

I don't think I would take a 4-year-old to see it... it is rated PG-13 for a reason, because like the Harry Potter series, there are some darker parts that might frighten young children.

gosh, this question looks like it was phrased by the publicists for the movie itself! No way for 4 year old - too ghoulish and violent. I think between ages 8-9 is a good starting age for this type of film.
