The common perception of people who work in public relations is that there is no common perception. That's what public relations is all about -- educating the public to awareness of your particular cause, program or product, and giving them reasons to care about it, because people won't support anything they don't care about, or don't understand.

They have the thankless job of creating jingles that drive the rest of us crazy. Well, seriously, I like their input, (or is that output?) to my sometimes boring day. I just wish they would share some of the interesting tidbits they learn while formating their responses to the news media.
