Why do our homeless war Veterans sleep in cardboard boxes while our criminals and convicts receive free medical and dental care, wholesome food and shelter, modern exercise equipment, free use of a well equipped law library, and have the right to sue the government from prison? And why does our government spend billions of tax dollars on politics and foreign aid while denying valid medical complaints of it’s Veterans?

Also, for one lovely person who answered my question with the answer..."Well all the veterans have to do is commit a crime then bada bing bada boom, there they are with a shelter. " Our veterens who fought for our country should not have to commit a crime to be able to live. Without them, you would be arrested and beaten if not killed, for giving your opinion. So thanks for your answer but let's think about it a little more ok?

Agreeded,

This adminstration has cut access to medical care, cut hazard pay, cut veterans affairs funding.

Those who served i vietnam are on the streets, they are homeless....

But the right wing says not to feed them, says that welfare is wrong, says its their own fault

yet are the first to pretend to support the troops.

It's all about who can make you feel the sorriest for them honestly. I mean I have known some convicts and vets and guess which one complains the most about rights and fair treatment. I can remember this guy complaining about TV reception and needed a new TV and how he couldn't buy these sneakers he wanted while in prison. Then I remember my uncle (a proud veteran) asking us last winter if he could stay with us until it got warmer because he got laid off a few months before and no one would hire him because of his age and health problems. So he was living in his little trailer with no heat or water eating nothing but when he would get invited for meals. And we didn't even realize. Wanna know something that sucks. A proud man who gave the best years of his life so other people can be hypocritical and down the US military to proud to ask for help (Except what he was due damn it!) and brought to tears because of shame. And anyone that can't say thank you and that we hold you above a criminal can go to hell! Because without the protection of those men that's where you'd probably be!!!

These are valid questions and unfortunately I don't know the answers, but I would certainly like for the government to give some sort of explanation. A satisfactory one at that.

What I can tell you is that many years ago, I wrote my Congressional representative with regards to the incarceration of criminals. I suggested that we work with countries that are indebted to our nation, building prison complexes in those countries. These facilities would be build by construction companies in those countries and staffed by their own people. For each hardened criminal housed, a certain amount of debt would be relieved. The idea was that only our most hardened criminals would go there, in the process losing their American citizenship.

Know what the response of the Congressional rep was? That it would be cruel and unusual punishment. Nevermind that the criminal might've killed six people with an ax, it would be unfair to them if such conditions were inflicted on them.

One of the reasons why I don't much care for politicians.

Really pisses you off don't it. Thank the groups like the ACLU for this kind of crap. Personally, outside of being inhumane, I don't think prisoners should be given any special priveldges. They are being punished for crimes committed not kept for a time til they can get out and do them again.

That is a GREAT question. And I believe our government owes you, our vets and the American people an answer. Don't hold your breath waiting for one(sad to say).

because politics are too screwed up. To hold a man without feeding him adequately would be inhumane, which it is. However, they would rather spend money holding/feeding those who have done bad than supplementing for someone who has devoted himself to his country.

I dunno the answer to that, but have wondered the same. Our criminals have more rights than we do. I am not saying jail is fun, but I think the inmates get more than deserved in most instances.
