Why not?
Why would that be so bad?
Who does it hurt?
Why can't 2 people who love each other marry, regardless of their gender?
I think they should live happily ever after as well. :o)

what for??
woman and man get married so they can start a family.. have kiddies.. who will call the, Mum and Dad.
If two lesbians get married (I have few lesbian friends) what do they do?? who is husband wife? or are they both wifes? Will they be both Mothers (eh Mum and Mummy as I heard before) when they use a 'donor' to get a child??
morally this is very confusing and very confusing to children who should grow up with both figures.
It was a very strange experience in a pool in Kruger Part SA few years ago. There was a boy about 11, going a CUDDLING to all ladies (they did not know what to do, they pushed him away.. did not want to hurt him...)!! The once I overheard him saying to one man "Dad, there is Mummy..." pointing at the other man they were with.. I have nearly dropped/drowned, whatever.. this little boy was so starved for woman love/affection (real mother love) it is crazy.
Yes, legal issues it is another matter. A couple needs to be committed and secure in relationship.. but marriage..
I totally am against it, seen to much theater (Dallas)!
If both girls love each other let them live happily ever after, they dont need to adverise it to the world!! Be discreet and why must you constantly fight for the cause?? People do not look down at you anymore (maybe some still surprised, depends how religious or what culture is the country)
Believe me.. I am very open minded.. and I believe going lasbian is such an easy way out... as it seemed those very girls had not any relationship with boys as often look like boys (very manly, so boys at age 14 dont give them time of day)
ps
not disrespecting lesbians.. but as an answer to those answers about 'democracy".. we, human’s need boundaries.. our children will follow our example and go further.. in 20 years time on this yahoo questions/answers we will se: can a man marry his dog as they are the best partners. COME ON!!! Leave religion out of it, as well as this democracy, and look at it what will the influence be in 20-50 or 100 years from now..

Yes, it's the right thing to do.
And I haven't found a reasonable 'no' reply.
The only 'no' reasons I have read are. Because the Bible says so. LAME! The Bible also condones slavery, but I don't think most people would agree with that one.
Just look at the commandments people break on a daily basis, these are COMMANDMENTS!!
1 You shall have no other gods before me. (Like Brangolina?)
2 You shall not take the Name of the LORD your God in vain. (Jesus Christ!! Who keeps that one?)
3 Keep holy the Sabbath day. (Even Priests work on Sundays)
4 Honor your father and your mother. (Do you always keep this Commandment?)
5 You shall not kill. (This is a good one)
6 You shall not commit adultery. (But nobody really cares if you do)
7 You shall not steal. (But nobody really cares if you do)
8 You shall not bear false witness. (But nobody really cares if you do)
9 You shall not covet your neighbor's wife. (But nobody really cares if you do)
10 You shall not covet your neighbor's goods. (But we all have to keep up with the Jones’s)
And yet homosexuality is just mentioned in passing in the Bible, but is seen by some people as an abomination to society! Talk about hypocritical.
The other reason was because lesbians can't raise a family. Many lesbians have children either from previous marriages, adoptions or by invitro. Besides some straight couples have to use these methods too, does that make them a non-family?
Be real, do what is right and support gay marriage.
Love not hate.

No, and I say this because God made Adam and Eve, when they got put out of the garden, they were to reproduce and procreate the earth for their disobeying God. He would have made 2 females or 2 males if they were ment to be together in that sense and then everyone would have been given the ability to carry and deliver a baby and to also do the other part of reproduction. Women can carry and give birth and we have the eggs for the Men's sperm to get into if it is strong enough. 2 women can not have a baby on their own, without a man's help. As 2 men could not have a baby without a woman's help, (Naturally). Now I do not have a problem with people being with who they want to be with, that is their own life and not my business, but same sex was not ment to be together that way and thus should not be able to get married.

Yes, definitely.
To answer a previous poster, lesbians are "stopping life"??? Not bearing children is wrong?
So, if I am a straight woman and marry a man and choose not to have children, I'm morally wrong for doing that? Or if I was infertile, it would be wrong for me to marry just because I can't bear children?
Additionally, there are thousands of foster children in DESPERATE need of homes. I know thousands of loving lesbian and gay couples would more than welcome the opportunity to take these children home with them (and they have). They've given children who had no home a loving home and family. How is that wrong?
Homophobic individuals such as you need to get out of the mindset of hate and fear and THINK on your own for a change.
Additionally, leave religion out of this. It is not a religious issue. No matter what religion you are, America is supposed to be about freedom of religion and our laws should not be swayed by religious beliefs. If gay marriage becomes legal in the U.S. and a certain church doesn't want to marry a gay or lebian couple, so be it. But they can still get married by a justice of the peace. Religion does not have to enter this argument.

First, how or where did the government get the power to decide who can get married and who can’t? I don’t remember reading about that in the Constitution. Second, the Bible (the word of God, a Christian God) was written by men (I know, God spoke through them). Men also decided what gospels would go into the Bible. As time goes on we find that there were many gospels not included in the Bible because other men in charge of the church at the time decided not to include them, because it did not support the direction they wanted to take the church at the time. It is one thing to believe, but to blindly believe is a fool’s paradise. Short of health or safety concerns, if two people want to be married then they should be allowed to marry. My government should not be wasting my tax dollars and time discussing something that is not their concern.

Definitely yes. Why not? Anybody who loves another should legally get married and live their dream of happily ever after and then some.

Well, this is coming from a LESBIAN, so...I would have to say yes...we should be able to legally marry, along with gay males. Love is love...that's all that matters. We ARE born this way!!. I NEVER chose to be a lesbian. I never once woke up one morning & said "Oh, I think I'll be a lesbian" -- that's just absurd!....Lesbians CAN have babies just as easily as str8/bi women...Love is the most important thing in a family...It doesn't matter if it's a mom/mom, dad/dad, mom/dad family. As long as the child has plenty of love, he/she would be just fine...Personally, I believe people should be more open-minded...

YES!!!! They should be afforded the same rights all together.
We as humans have no reason to judge one another. We all have to learn to be more accepting and loving. THAT'S what God wants. He CERTAINLY does not want his children calling eachother by degrading names or beating and killing eachother in his name. He will be our only Judge.
Someone said something about Lesbians not reproducing but I know many do have children so that statement is completely invalid. Not only that, we live in a world where abandoned babies are left in trash cans every other minute but those people are still allowed to get married where's the justice? And in regards to the Bible, though many of you may consider my next statement blashphemous here it goes... the Bible was written by MAN. To ERR is huMAN. I believe in God and his TEN commandments and guess what? there is no commandment against Gays and Lesbians.
Whew! ... ok next question please :)
