I can't speak for all States but the worst I have ever ridden in was Southern Florida. Old people are killers in Cadillacs.

The best I have traveled is a cross between the desert southwest where it is boring flat and always dry, hence safe and Midwest (Minnesota/Wisconsin) or New England where the distractions are great, the countryside gorgeous, the roads challenging and the weather often iffy.

However the feeling you get when able to still hear the birds and smell the scented fragrance of the air is a memory I always relish but there is nothing like deer jumping in front of you though to scare the bejeezus out of you, if not much, much worse.

I am basing my opinion according to various subjects like political status, population, crime rate, weather, and hospitality.

Best: Massachusetts

Massachusetts has a good education system. What can I say for the state with Harvard University?, the people there are nice, and John F. Kennedy comes from there. Massachusetts has a fairly low crime rate. It also has a lot of history.

Worst: Mississippi

Mississippi has the worst education system in the United States. The average IQ of people who live there is 89, meaning mental challenged. The people there aren't very nice, unless you live in the western portion of the state. If you move to Mississippi, then chances are that you'll wind up living in a neighborhood with many poor people living in it. What can I say for the least wealthy state in the county? You will receive minimum wage income regardless of your job and a lot, not all, but a lot of people there make Paris Hilton look like Albert Einstein. What can I say for a state that voted for George W. Bush twice?

I have lived in Kentucky, Massachusetts, California and Minnesota. I loved Massachusetts and thought I would always live on the Coast. I moved in Cali and did not like it. It felt so shallow and flighty. I moved in Minneapolis last year and I love it sooo much. I did not realize how much I missed the seasons. The people here are grounded but open-minded. It is great. So right now I would say- Minnesota is the best- but I still have 46 other sates to try before I could say for sure.

I'm going to answer this as a motorcycle-related question.

The best would be any state with more than three months of riding weather, one which has beautiful natural scenery, and a plethora of twisty winding roads.

The worst are those with very few months of good riding weather.

Southern California, has to be the best. Hawaii is awesome, but you get, "Island Fever"; run out of real estate and places to go to.

I'm convinced each state has something wonderful about it, even if you think it sucks. It beats living in a third world country.

Have you ever considered living in Colorado? It is very beautiful, and has a lot of snow( if you like snow it is a snow-lover's paradise.) The worst state to live in is Georgia. It is very hot and it is a sticky heat.
