I use a DVR and commercials take much less of my time. I should say much less of my wife's time. I stopped watching TV a few weeks ago when I discovered Yahoo!Answers!
So I answer questions for people. I feel like an interface between information on the Internet and people who need the information but don't use a search engine to get it.

Well I don't watch commercials or TV for that matter, but I do waste a lot of time on Yahoo Answers. Maybe if I'd log off I could get something done today.

After I figured out that a third of all television programming (excluding sports) is commercials (or credits), I stopped watching normal TV. You can get most good shows on DVD and if you need 'em sooner, TiVo is a reasonable alternative. So I couldn't really do any more than I do now, which is fill out answers on this site here...

Not much more, 'cause I don't watch very much TV. I'd atleast gone outside and taken a walk or something. I don't wanna be known as a couch potato for the rest of my life!

I could have spent the time reading a set of encyclopedias and thus improving my ability to answer questions.

I could have gotten a much needed manicure. No, to be serious, I could have taken my kids to the park for a longer time!
