No, the voters get him there. Go back to you social studies classes, our president is determined by the voters. each state get a certain amount of electoral votes and that is how it is determined. Each vote can make a difference look what happened during the last election with Gore and how close it was.

As far as who is exactly behind the scenes:
If you have ever watched Frontline's Rumsfeld's War, you begin to get the whole picture.
http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/shows/pentagon/view/
Cheney and Rumsfeld go back as far as the Nixon administration together. They actually got Bush Sr. a job in politics back then. Those 2 are the ones in real control.
As far as what your question ask 'between the lines' = was it possible that votes were manipulated. The answer is a flat YES. Exit polls in 11 states showed Kerry winning then later stated that Bush won. This is an impossiblity. Exit polls have never in WORLDWIDE history ever been inaccurate past 3%. And it is incredibly odd that in all 11 states every time there was an exit poll inaccuracy, it went in Bush's favor.
So YES, there was absolute voter fraud. No, I shouldn't say voter fraud, it is very obvious that the ppl behind Bush criminally changed the results.

No, because Kerry had good people behind the scenes PLUS he had the press in his corner. But his ineptness still got through and he was NOT elected. Voters today are much more sophisticated in their thinking. For example, Kennedy used his back door connections with the Mob to get the Union Vote which put him in office. Then turned his brother loose on theme. That wouldn't happen today. People are much more informed.

The "people behind the scenes" you refer to are the huge multi-national corporations. They didn't just put Bush into office, they play both sides. Kerry would have been just as controlled by the corporations as Bush is, but Kerry probably wouldn't have been enjoying the profits from the war as much as Bushco does.
The people have no voice any longer. The country is run for the benifit of a few huge corporations, and their billionare CEOs.

Technically, voter representatives make the vote for president. 99.9% of the time they follow the will of their consituency. They did, in fact follow the correct procedure and represent the voters.
Although GWB was a fraction behind Kerry in the popular vote, he did receive more electoral votes and won legitimately. The supreme court merely stated that one manual recount was sufficient, and found infufficient evidence of voter irregularities to constitute fraud.

You are correct. In 2000 in Florida, for example,Bush saw he was
losing,so he said "Well my brotha Jeb just happens to be the governa. We'll just send the boys out and get this thing turned around!"
Evidence of foul play was also found in Ohio in 2004.
