I have combo skin- dry and oily all at the same time!I have tried moisturizers of all brands to help the dry spots, but then at night i use apricot scrub(st ives medicated) to deal with the oil and blackheads. when i apply my makeup in the mornings it looks nasty because it shows where my face is dry and peeling 9 even w/ the moisturizer on underneath!) as teh day goes on, my face gets so oily that it shines! if i try to reapply my powder it looks cakey! I have tried all kinds of foundations and powders to help with this - from the cheap to the very expensive! any suggestions?

I have the same problem, and I use Aveno face wash (any of them) and Aveno Moisturizer (any of them) and I never had that problem again. I have been using Aveno for about 3 years and LOVE it. I recommend friends and family to use it actually.

Try Clinique make up. They have a buildable foundation that does not cake up and I use their loose powder and it never looks cakey. It is kindof pricey, but it is worth it.

I too have combo skin and struggled to find the right products to use. I worked with my dermatologist an esthetician. One of the most important things that I found out was that when your skin gets oily, you still have to moisturize. I mad the mistake of thinking that because my skin was oily in some spots, I couldn't use moisturizer. I also think that if you are exfoliating every night, that is part of the problem with the dryness. You should only use a scrub about once a week. This is the combination that I found that works best for me: Morning: I wash my face in the shower with Bobbi Brown Rich Cream Cleanser. Then I use Bobbi Brown Face Tonic (It's a toner), followed by Cetaphil Lotion (in the pump) underneath my makeup. At night I was my makeup off with Oil of Olay Daily Facials Cleansing Cloths for Sensitive Skin, I again use the Face Tonic, then Cetaphil Lotion. I have a prescription face cream called Erythromycin (generic brand for Benzamycin) from my dermotologist that I put on after the Cetaphil (it is a miracle cream...i love it). If I have any blemishes, I use witch hazel (very cheap and easily available at Target or the like) on a Qtip and dab it on the blemish. Once a week or once every couple of weeks, I will use an exfoliator and I use the Neutrogena Daily face scrub for that. I hope this works for you... it has been great for me and I know how important it is to have nice skin. It means a lot to me as well... good luck!!!!

Mary Kay has several different products and 1 of them is Timewise Cleanser and moisturizer. These won't over dry your skin and safe enough to use 2x day. They are $40 but the amount that you use the tubes will last for 3-6months.

Check out this website: www.marykay.com/shelbym and e-mail me if you have questions

Honey, you will be happy to know most of us have combo skin types, the key is to moisturize 2 times a day and keep skin clean not scrubbing it because you scrub off skin.

Dove facial moisturizer for combination skin. Put in on after your shower and before applying makeup. Give it a minute to set in before applying makeup.

It may either be your makeup or the moisturizer. Try using a different moisturizer that works with your skin.

try rice paper during the day it will absorb the oil throw out the day, do it before you apply powder. You can also use them after you have applied your make-up because it won't mess it up.Try Wal-Mart they run abut $5-7 dollars for about 50 papers.
