What are we GOING to do? Probably negotiate some huge support package so that they can maintain a million man army (bigger than ours and over 10 times per capita size). This way, Kim can save face and tell his people that he made the West give him resources and rice because of his show of power.

What SHOULD we do? We should immediately go back to giving absolutely no support (all of the nations, not just the USA), and then start at a zero basis in negotiations that will result in a much lower level of support due to his recalcitrance. It's like dealing with a little kid. If they yell loud enough and throw a tantrum in the supermarket, a lot of parents are going to buy them that candy bar.

His huge army, nuclear and missile programs are enabled by us providing food and other goods. If he had to spend the money to feed his people, he couldn't support his army. He is probably idiotic enough to keep the army and starve his people, but no populace will long tolerate that.

We need to take away the candy that we've been buying and make it so N. Korea has to take most of those million men and start manufacturing goods and growing rice. If they refuse, I think it's time to see how far those soldiers can march with no supplies.

A hope that China is not going to help North Korea may purely be a hope.A scientist in Pakistan being protected, is alleged to be behind this game of spread of Nuclear technology. If the American polity and the soft approach elsewhere continued,to haunt the BUSH Administration the missiles may reach the shores of America.

Thanks for a timely question. Luckily, for me and the rest of the world, I'm not the person that has to make the decision about how to respond to North Korea. Since most of my experience comes from being a mom, I'd probably take away all their toys (nuclear weapons and substrates), send them to their rooms without dinner (economic sanctions with Japan, South Korea, USA), and not let them play with their bully buddies (China and Russia). That may seem to simple to many. Or, we could just blow the hell out of their country and send their technological resources back to the dark ages. By the time they will be able to be a threat, we'd already have filled their country with Walmarts and McDonalds...the new opiate of the masses.

I say blow up north korea, Who is going to miss the country anyway. Blow it off the face of the earth and it will be one less problem to worry about.

Who knows..that leader is Crazy.
Japan is pissed at them I read this morning.
Maybe they will do something. They already
stopped a ferry that brings them food and fertilizer.
Other countries are about to do the same.
I think they have more weapons then we realize due
to their arrogance.
