I understand that the Bible is agianst it however it is our choice that God gave us. It is not hurting anyone having gay and lesbians living among us. We are people too and wish to be treated as such, what is done in our homes is our buisness, why can't we have rights just like the man/woman relationships? Why must so many good people be turned down a good job just because they are gay?

Thanks for asking, Tinkerbell. I ask myself that same question all the time. I think for some people, they feel that answers in the Bible are good enough reason for them. I choose to believe, however, that even if you believe what you read in the Bible, you can also believe that all of God's children deserve to be treated with respect and love, and save the judgement for God only.

There are two different reasons way people hate/dislike gay people

1, Homophobia is must like "the fear of the dark", people fear what they don't know. If someone isn't gay and never knew a gay person then they don't know anything about them and it is easier to just hate something rather then finding out about it.

2, Homophobia is must like racism. Many people are racist/homophobic because that is how they are raised, or they had one moment when something bad happened and now judge the whole group based on that.

Oh and it is illegal to not hire someone because they are gay

The question of the ages....hmmm. Let me see. People who are ignorant and believe that only their way is absolute, have such small minds that they refuse to allow others the right to be themsleves. This is not just an American issue. It happens all over the world. We just happen to be the most vocal about it and apparently offended by it. I tend to think that it is more fear than close-minds.

Wow...some of these other answers were good but now for my own answer. While ppl may not want to explain the sexual preferences of the gay and lesibian communiy to their children because of they chose to publicly display their affections to their loved ones they y is it ok for the straights to do so? I luv my "sis's" very much and if they chose that then that is their right. Ppl just need to worry bout their own lives and let others b. If you don't like what you c you can turn you head the other way. Ppl fear what they don't understand and just don't want to learn to accept others for what they believe to be of the abnormal. If you are straight, great! If your are gay/lesibian, great. Everyone should be loved for the person they are rather than on their sexual preferences, race, religion, etc.

just because you can choose to do it doesnt mean that its right. Is being an alcoholic a good thing to choose. you decide to drink that doesn't mean its good for you. Is marrying a 10 year old acceptable? It might be for some people but that doesn't mean you just say its ok. If its not natural then there is a problem. for gays just because they feel that it is acceptable doesn't mean alot. maybe they have a problem just like drunks, drug addicts or child molestors. maybe when they were growing up there wasn't the right family environment for them to grow up and learn how to love the opposite sex (divorced, no father, etc) and that caused there thinking to be preverted. That is what happens in alot of cases concerning molestation, alchoholism etc. So try accepting there is a problem then get help.

If what you do in your home is your business, then why do gay people have to "come out of the closet"? That kills me! Heterosexual people don't go around always talking about how "straight" they are! We don't "come out of the closet" and have to start making a big deal of being heterosexual and telling everyone about it. Why can't gay people just be gay and quit talking about it so much. I don't care if you're gay or not, I don't want to hear about anyones sexuality, heterosexual or not, its not my business, the jobs business, or America's business! And I don't want to have to explain to a child that its ok that two men or women are french kissing in the park next to us. And by the way, God did not give you that choice, you made your own choice, as we all do in this life.....Peace
