Mad tv is the worst show ever. Saturday Night Live in the 90s was awesome. Dana Carvey, Adam Sandler, Chris Rock, Phil Hartman, Chris Farley, Mike Myers, David Spade, Will Ferrel......
SNL sucks these days but at least it used to be good. Mad tv has always been stupid and has never had any star performers. SNL all the way.

SNL was great for the first few years, but it went o heck in a handcart after Belushi (John, not Jim) left the show and kilt hisseff with drugs.
Mad TV can be amusing, but they usually run their skits about twice as long as the joke is worth ... like nothing is funny unless it is taken to wretched excess.
So, these days, Mad TV comes somewhat closer to "funny" than SNL, but that is damning with faint praise.

snl has been around for a LONG time, probably longer than most the people answering this question have been alive. however madtv being a fox production tends to do a few things that the other networks might not allow, so I would say they are even split.
