What bands or solo artists would you say were in the same catagory as Green Day? What bands have the same idea or a similar sound as them?

Well there is a band called, The Network. Before American Idiot was released, Green Day were recording an album called Cigarettes and Valentines. The tapes got stolen so Green Day started from scratch and made a totally diffrent album called, American Idiot. Rumor has it that Cigarettes and Valentines was a new style of Green Day so, Green Day released it under a new band name and album name to see how many people liked it. Also, the album and the band first appeared around the same time Cigarettes and Valentines got stolen and it sounds just like Billie Joe and Mike Dirnt are singing. (It really sounds like them in the song Supermodel Robots). The album is a more robotic version of Green Day. The members of the Network also wear masks so, no one knows what their faces look like, and the members go by the names that are the same nicknames of the members of Green Day. For instance, Fink. Which is Billie Joe's nickname. So, I would say that Green Day and The Network sound just alike and have the same idea. Oh and one more thing, GREEN DAY ROCKS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow thats a hard one considering that Green Day has changed their sound over the years. I'm assuming you mean Green Day today and in that case I'd still have to say that I'm really not all that sure. They went from a more punky/ pop sound to a harder rock/ pop sound. What comes close to that? I'd have to say maybe Good Charlotte.

No one can compete with Green Day. My opinion is that no one can match Green Day's style
