The Republican party is pandering to the hardcore Christians and are undermining the first and fourth amendments.
The Constitution party are the hardcore Christians and are trying to undermine the first amendment.
The Democratic party is pandering to the hippie liberals and are undermining the second amendment.
The Socialist party is hippie liberal hardcore Christians on steroids they are interested in turning our government into a socialist state (communism).
That leaves being either a Libertarian or an Independent.
Libertarians believe in a small government that does not provide anything more than basic law enforcement and infrastructure.
Libertarians are for eliminating welfare to other countries and to our own people.
Libertarians are for promoting personal responsibility and decriminalizing "victimless crime" to free up prison space so there is plenty of room for violent offenders to rot for the rest of their lives instead of getting time off for "good behavior".
Libertarians believe that the people have the liberty to do what ever they want as long as they are not hurting other people.
Libertarians truly respect the constitution and do not trying to undermine any of the bill of rights and are for eliminating the laws that have undermined the bill of rights.
Libertarians believe in a strong national defense and that it should only be used to defend the country and should never be used to invade another sovern nation to settle internal disputes.
Now Independents are just that they do not belong to any party.

Republican
Hardcore Christians tend to use God as an excuse to support such lame-brain ideas as opposing the death penalty, opposing even necessary wars and increasing the amount of money that the government inappropriately wastes trying to help the poor, thereby putting them in many ways in cahoots with the tree-hugging hippy liberals who dominate the Democratic Party.

Democratic
Democrats believe in civil liberties and will keep you safe from the right-wing Christian extremists. Most Democrats are not tree-hugging hippies and have only been given that label by desperate Republicans afraid that they're going to lose their strangle hold on the government (a well-founded fear as Bush continues to lose popularity).

Join a left wing group that is democratic, not Stalinist. Alternatively consider starting a party or pressure group for a cause that is personal to you. Search the Web - there is a lot of information out there. Whatever you choose make certain before you join any group - left, right or centre - that it is compatible with your own sense of moral rightness.

Join the US Constitution Party. It's platform (the document that outlines the party's principles and beliefs) is nothing more than the good old US Constitution.
