I would think you have to try them on naked so your private parts would touch the suit...is that bad etiquette in case you don't buy them or completely normal?

I do not know where you are from, but in the united states it is against the law for you to try on a swim suit without leaving your underwear on. You must wear your underwear when trying on a swim suit. It is the law. It doesn't matter if the board shorts don't touch your skin (and by the way many men do wear boardshorts WITH underwear, boardshorts ARE NOT really swim suits, they are actually SHORTS (thus the name) ).
It is bad etiquette to try on a suit without underwear and it is illegal. If you are planning on trying on speedos or small, tight swim suits make sure that you are wearing smaller underwear that day (like a thong).
And men actually do have hygienic things to worry about, not the same ones as women, but they still have hygienic things.
Just leave your underwear on when trying them on. If you wear boxers then I would suggest that you wear tighter underwear that day just for the purpose of trying things on and making sure they fit right.

had 2 toddlers a year in the past. I placed on a bikini acceptable or flattering one piece with a wrap. This leaves some thing to the mind's eye and that i love it. if you're lively like swimming quite than tanning then throw on the guy shorts. which will instruct the adult males you could dangle

If you must, out of consideration for the person who may buy it if you don't, do not take off your underwear when you do so. There is a reason why you can't return such outfits in the first place,

I am with you...try them on naked! with speedos and speedo trunks you can't try them on with underwear...your "package" is totally different! with shorts they have that mesh stuff.. Men don't have the hygienic stuff to worry about so much as women do..long as your comfortable with someone else may have been naked in those shorts! go for it!

you try them on just like women do, keeping your underwear on. It will not alter the fit of them that much anyway.
