If you were given the gift of time travel, and you could go back to any time period in the past and stay for one week, what period would it be and why? If you chose the 20th century, what decade would you choose? I suppose I would choose the early or mid 1980s, in the hope that I could undo some of the mistakes I’ve made. What about you?

Gee!
I use to watch Johnny Quest many moons ago.

What a pleasant surprise. To your question ' Doctor '. I wouldn't. Even as a fun thing to see and experience for just a few hours.

Time as we are all agreed, is a finite, delicately balanced thing, as we ourselves are.

One's presence by itself might in some way impinge on future history. A premeditated attempt would also do likewise.

I prefer to be where I am, and effect changes in the course of my own life now. Where it is possible, for the good.

I would go back to my ancestors times. They were Cree Indians.
I would love to live on a reservation and know more about its culture. Early 1800's. Spend time with my grandparents and great grand parents as children. How cool would that be?

I would chose the future, not the past.
And your idea with undoing mistakes... Life can be lived in thousand ways, and you have to chose one way. You can never be sure you made the perfect choice.
I think you should accept your mistakes. They made you the present-day being.

For just one week? Can I just go back before the dot com mania? That way I am sure making tons of money in the stock market, and sell it before it imploded.

I'd go back to the Wednesday before the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. I think it would be very interesting, knowing what I know, to hear Jesus speak, to watch him die on the cross on Friday, to see him laid in a Roman-guarded tomb on Friday, and in the following week to hear his once depressed, afraid, and disappointed disciples proclaiming his resurrection.
