Well here's a new one for me that's pretty serious and not so archaic. If you convicted of a moving violation in Ohio even with no other person or property involved it is a minor misdemeanor on your permanent record. A friend of mine just got denied a job because he didn't know he had a criminal record and so checked "no" on the application. All he did was hydroplane into a hillside and a couple of small trees now he will have to tell every employer for the next 20 years or more that he has a criminal record. Since I found this out I don't drive in Ohio unless I have too.

New York: To cut down on its once-horrific graffiti problem, New York City several years ago made it illegal to carry an open can of spray paint. While riding in an elevator, one must talk to no one, and fold his hands while looking toward the door. Women may go topless in public, providing it is not being used as a business.
