The correct answer is 4.312.
So, you need to watch out that period between the fourth and fifth dates, because it all depends on how long it takes between them. Say, it is a week between the fourth and fifth dates. In that case, you'll be officially a couple 7*.312 = 2 days, 4 hours, 24 minutes and 57.6 seconds after the fourth date. You need to check carefully in your watch, because this is not something you can feel (like "wow, I sense we are a couple now").
Off course, if the 5th date is postponed for some days for any reason, it all changes, so who knows?
Any way, it is very complicated, trust me!

As suprising as it sounds, anymore there is really no limit. In this day and age when women are feeling the freedom of looking a little longer for what they want and need exactly, people in general have become more partner specific. With our busy lifes and day to day affairs, it's really hard to get to know someone in 2, 3 or even 10 dates, especially getting to know them to the point of exclusivity.
My bestfriend found this out the hard way after dating a man for several months, the entire time thinking they were a couple. Then one day upon asking if Friday night was good for him he said unabashed that he had another date Friday,... her mouth dropped to the floor, she began ranting about cheating and to her surprise he just sat there. The night ended with him explaining calmly and actually rather respectably that he didn't understand she was under that assumption, and that he felt they were still just "kickin it". He said that although he was really interested in her, and would have loved to become exclusive, they had never discussed it, so he assumed she wasn't ready, and he continued to date others as well. The relationship didn't work out because she was so shocked by his words even though they were very honest and heart felt. She ended up dating another guy, who she is actually married to now, but learned, if there is any doubt in your mind that your a couple, no matter how long you've been together,...just ask.

I gave ya a long explanation just to get the the meat of my answer, but I try to be thorough. You seem like a brave and self empowered girl,...if you have any doubts just ask the beau, I'm sure he'll tell ya what he thinks. Truth be told it's really only his and your opinion that counts anyway. People here may tell you the magic number is 5 dates, but he may have been head over heels crazy for you after just one,...

Best of Luck and Hope I helped even a lil'

That's a really great question. The only thing I can think of is this...dates are casual-in the getting to know you stage...which is why it is OK to date more than one person at a time. At some point, you start to evelop more intense feelings and such...this is the point at which you decide (both of you) whether you will continue "dating" or are ready to see where it takes you and stop dating other people...I believe this is where you become a real couple.

It is important to note that at no time did I mention sex...because sex DOES NOT constitute a relationships or even feelings. Friendship, campanionship and other things do.

Varies. You become a "couple" when you both agree that you want a monogamous relationship with that person.
