I am prettty sure that I have polycystic ovaries and I know that I had a cyst on one of my ovaries at one time, but it is gone for sure now (doc had said that it must have burst.) Anyway, along with this, I have never had a regular period. Now I have been spotting (not very much but it's been going on for over a week.) I am 30 years old and never been pregnant.

I love it when Men give advise that your weight will cure everything. You need to have a doctor evaluate you for PCOS. It can and does in most cases effect your fertility. It also effects your weight because PCOS is related to insulin resistance it causes you to become heavier as your body is producing more insulin to compensate. It also makes it really hard to lose any excess weight you may have. These days they are treating PCOS successfully with drugs given to diabetics. Also they are now seeing that if you are obese and you have some form of weight loss surgery it helps your PCOS to reverse. It also helps you to conceive. You absolutely need to discuss these things with your doctor. Good Luck!

You should be okay. A friend of mine's daughter had PCOS and she had very irregular periods. If this really concerns you call your doctor. But why did your doctor let your cyst on your ovary burst and do nothing? It could have been life threatening.

Could be hormones. Hormones play a big part in periods and female makeup. do you have pain? Periods can come and go often as you reach mid age. especially if you have never been pregnant. I should tell you that birth controll may cause spottng if you are usually regular.

I would check into endometriosis. Your doctor can perform a test to see it that is what the problem is or not. Good luck.
