No, I never had an abortion! I'm just having some girly problems that might eventually mean surgery to remove fibrous tissue-if that is the problem anyway. I think the procedure done is usually a D&C (dilation and cutterage) for this and I'm scared to death it might mean problems trying to concieve another child someday. But I'm totally jumping the gun-I haven't even had an ultrasound yet to see what the problem is. I'm just nervous.

No, a D&C does not cause infertility. As a matter of fact, some doctors do a D&C as a treatment for infertility. It makes the inside of the uterus ready to accept implantation of an egg. I'm not saying have a D&C when you want to get pregnant but that many times a D&C can get rid of the things that are hindering a successful implantation.

No a D&C does not cause future infertility. I had one three years ago because I miscarried and now I am eight months pregnant and I can't wait until I get the chance to meet my son.

Yes, it can cause scar tissue, if not done properly especially if it was an abortion(even though it wasn't in your case) In most cases it is treatable
Good luck

No I've never heard of it causing future problems. Its just a gentle scrapping of the uterus. I hope nothing wrong though and you don't need it at all.

A D&C is just a gentle scraping of your uterus walls. You should be fine. Any other concerns on future fertility should be addressed to your doctor.
