Why are people stupid?

And why aren't we allowed to throttle idiots?

We live in a society with a horrible education system where we are taught to blindly memorize things that are incorrect in the first place by people who were taught the same way. We punish the free thinkers and label them with ADHD, or whatever the current fad to not take responsibility is.

After all this, we wonder why the sheeple just follow each other and can't think for themselves. Well, you told them for 20 years not to!

Darwinism is dead. Long live modern medicine and its ability to prolong the lives of those that should die out!

In the long run, people are stupid because of one of two reasons - genetic predisposition, or lack of education. Now, the latter can technically be defined as ignorance, but when people are indoctrinated for their entire life, they are educated. Just... wrongly. So, some stupid people are born that way, and once upon a time would have died out and not reproduced. But willful stupidity is an infinite flaw of mankind.

So the question really is, why are people selfish, irrational, undisciplined, and all around prigs? It's because they are human, and in this golden epoch of the human age (yes, I know, the sarcasm is choking) we are shamelessly showing our true colors. Welcome to hell.

And you can't throttle them because... uh... because homicide is illegal. And if they're really stupid enough to throttle, they're surely not worth a life in jail.

If stupidity WAS painful, though... instantly, viciously, unmistakably painful... that might help.

P.S. To every one of you who snapped back that the author of this question was an idiot, or some variant thereof, perhaps you should reevaluate the habit of trolling the internet and labeling individuals as stupid - and where that puts YOU on the intelligence scale.

Because humans have risen to the top of the food chain on Earth by using their reasoning ability, they now have egos that are so immense they feel they are the center of the universe and that they know almost everything about their universe.

A good example would be to take a human that is considered tops in the area of knowledge and reasoning ability: a scientist.
Humans take what a scientist says as factual and disseminates it among their throngs using schooling and other communication techniques. Invariably these truths turn out to be false. You can look at history and see how scientists over the ages were always wrong, but the world followed their perceived wisdom as if it were undisputable fact. Over much of history religious organizations were considered to be the science that produced mankind's base of knowledge. On a more personal scale, look at all the health studies that are being rewritten on a daily basis because they were wrong. Pick up a medical journal and find out what they used to say will kill you is now good for you. And vice-versa.

And that's just stupidity in the areas of science. Morality is a much more important and complicated area that most humans seem to excel in their stupidity. (I'm not sure if there is hope for them in that field.)

If you're interested in combating this stupidity problem, remember this: humans are an inconsequential speck of dust in space and time (and might not even be here much longer) and most of what they know is wrong and the rest has gotten them in trouble. Recognize these human shortcomings and you can begin to appreciate humans for what we really are. And who knows, a little humility might go a long ways towards saving a species gone ape-sh*t.

Under the assumption that "stupid" is defined as "marked by the lack of intelligence or care" and "foolish or careless," then people are stupid because they lack the intelligence of a specific belief, item, or moment that suggests the former specifics, or because they simply don't care and are reckless in their thinking and actions.

We are not allowed to throttle said "idiots" because that would be a class A misdemeanor called "assault" (we're assuming that we're American here).

If everyone thought like you then life would be pretty dull and predictable. I'm pretty sure someone has said the same thing about you before. People make poor choices or choices we don't agree with every single day of our lives. Just remember what comes around goes around and in the end you and I are not going to be the ones to judge. In the end, we are alone with our choices and answer only to ourselves. Good luck and take a deep breath. Try putting ownership back on the person that upset you and choose to not let whatever happen ruin your day. Let it go, life is WAY too short to waste it on an idiot!

Stupid people breed more together. They're less educated about sex education, have less to do, etc. etc..

Smarter people have less kids because they lead busier lives (lawyers, doctors, etc..), have a better sex education background, and have goals they wish to achieve in life before they have kids.

Because of genetics, stupid people tend to breed stupid children. Becasue of math, the more stupid people breed, the more stupid people they make. The world is making a lot more stupid people than smart people. Thats why it seems like there are a lot of idiots -- because there are.

We're not allowed to throttle idiots becasue if we did, they'd be allowed to do it back to us ;)

People are stupid because they are raised to believe they don't have to listen to others to learn. We can't throttle them because then we would fall into the stupid category for not being able to control ourselves, even though sometimes you do feel the need to throw something or smack them when they aren't looking. And if people weren't so stupid sometimes, how would life be so amusing?

There are many things that create stupid people. It seems in the world today, people don't bother to make up their own mind. If they see something, it is automatically true, no matter what the other story is or if what they are seeing is even TRUE. Another big problem is that most people look up to famous people or so-called popular people. Too much relies on the basis of your appearance these days, which leads to people only caring about how good they look and the impression they make on everyone, not on how intelligent they are or just being themselves and finding things out for themselves. People are too afraid to be themselves because they want to be "cool".

Being dropped as babies or using drugs while pregnant or stupid runs in families. We are not able to throttle them because its the stupid people that makes the rest of us look like geniuses......

Aw, they can't help it. Some of them were just born that way. And unless you want to get arrested for assault, you can't throttle idiots. And besides that, they wouldn't know why you were throttling them!
