You can un-install IE 6.0 and revert to an earlier version of IE, but IE is part of the programming and it is integrated into the MS Operating System and cannot be removed.

1.Click Start, point to Settings, click Control Panel, and then double-click Add/Remove Programs.
2.On the Install/Uninstall tab, click Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 and Internet Tools in the list of installed programs, and then click Add/Remove.

No can't do. thats what the whole law suite was about. How Microsoft was forcing its internet browser to the users and not giving an option to uninstall. Even if you manage to uninstall it forcefully your operating system will just not run anymore.

It cannot be removed, all you can really do is repair it, why not just leave it there.. it's not hurting anything being there if you are not using it?
