I took my car into the Ford dealership on Monday for repairs. I have the premium warranty which entitles me to a rental car if they have to keep it there to work on it. The only problem is that the service department never called me back to tell me they were keeping it overnight. So that evening I called them back and the guy said they were going to have it there, but the renatal department has closed for the day. So I couldn't get a rental for that day or the following day as it was closed for the 4th. My other car doesn't have air conditioning so I'm stuck riding around in 95 degree heat with no a/c. Is it a resonable request to ask for a reduction in the cost of my deductible for the amount which I was not provided a rental car because they forgot to call me back to let me know they were keeping it overnight?

Hell yeah I'd ask for a discount.... it doesn't matter if you have 12 other cars at your house to use.... they should have given you a rental.... I would go to the General manager and complain..... they should comp you somehow.... don't take no for an answer!!

Contact Ford directly. You bought their vehicle and although most service departments at dealerships don't care about you, if you complain above their heads, usually you can get satisfaction. And you are helping others if you do because once the dealership is reprimanded, they are sure to do a better job (for a while).

Good luck

Yes. When you do actually DEMAND one. Usually if someone raises a big enough fuss, even if they're wrong-but you're not, they will get their way. Especially if its a bigger company who has managers above the person who you are dealing with. I've worked many customer service jobs over the past 15 years and from personal experience, the best way to deal with an irate customer is just to give them what they want. Hope you get your discount.

absolutly, you deserve some sort of remuneration ,how much is up to you and the service manager-first go see him inperson and be nice but firm and have a figure in mind before going, dont call on the phone or act like a jerk, remember he is in a tough spot here ,he needs/wants your business but service advisor just made a human error, not evil people or bad repair just an error-next time remember the phone lines work IN BOTH DIRECTIONS-call and ask about car if it is that imporant

Absolutely, that is very poor customer service, Call Ford customerservice line and make a complaint. They may even help with the repair cost.

not to sound bitchy...but...

If you took your car into the dealership...shouldn't YOU have contacted them to see how long they would be keeping the car?
You are not the only customer they have to deal with...
And so what you have to drive around with out a/c for a few days...it sounds like it was your fault, not theirs

You can either demand a discount or demand to be reimbursed for whatever you paid for that premium warranty.

you should ask to get some kind of discount. they were at fault by not telling you what was going on, and having you otherwise go out of your way to get around.
