I want to install a wood stove in my morton building , but I would rather not buy an expensive class A chimmney. can I use steel pipe or single wall black pipe for a chimney. I can get at least 20 inches of clearence to combustables were I go through the wall do I need a thimble to make that penatration.

You'll have to check your local building codes to see what is required in your area.... this varies a great deal from one part of the country to another.

Some places you can get away with a single-wall pipe... others, you must use a double wall, no matter where it is going.

If you live in a large city... start there... since you mention a Morton building, I would guess you are more likely in a rural/urban area.... in that case, check with the county.
