I want to go to europe for a month, but I am scared that I would lose my job if I rrequested a month off. Do you think asking for a month off of work would be right?

If it were me in your shoes I would ask my boss if I could have a month off to go to Europe and if he/she says no than put in your two weeks and go after your two weeks are up. You can always come back and get another job. You only get the opportunity to go on a trip like this once in a lifetime so do it or you will regret it forever.

Well, I can say that a guy I work with asked for 5 weeks off once and the answer he got was...

"If you can take that much time off, we have to seriously question whether or not your job is justifiable."

I think 4 weeks is probably too much time in your boss's eye, but he can't fire you for asking. It also depends on what your job is...can you work extra ahead of time so your stuff isn't backed up when you get back. Or do other people rely on your presence to do their job?

Yes, I have thought about it too. I have family in Europe and would love to go see them but to go there for a few days doesn't seem worth it. I want to go for a long time, like you said, a month or so.

I think about doing something like that all the time. If you can afford to do it, do it!!! You can always get another job. One day you might not be able to do something like this bc you'll have kids or a house payment or something. Go for it it's a once in a life time opportunity.

I do it every year, my boss doesn't have any problem, as long as I have not taken any other days off
