It depends on the psychology...the whole point of the game is that, all other things being equal, any hand has a 1/3 chance of winning, a 1/3 chance of losing, and a 1/3 chance of tying.
If you know your opponent likes to play "scissors", for instance, then you are best off playing "rock". There's no single answer.

I'd reccomend a Right handed approch, with Rock being the reccomended choice. This has the advantage of not only blunting Scissors and drawing with Rock to allow a re-match, but in the unlikely event your opposition chooses Paper (haha) the Rock symbol is a ready made weapon to strike the Paper handed cheat.

I think you are asking which is the best choice to use, rock, paper, or scissor... but really I think it depends on the other person. Try to guess what they will throw and play whatever beats it.

I'd say go with paper all the time. Most people start with rock on the first play. I think it's a combination of it being the simplest one to do and confidence thing.

While there is no 'best' hand, as you have an equal chance of winning whatever you play, there is lots of strategy.

I find playing my left hand against right handers throw people off. They tend to get a bit stunned and do dumb things.
