Well, if you were on level 42, you wouldn't call yourself level 8 now would you?? Silly person!

Other than that, it sounds like a vauge reference to a Douglas Adams concept, forty-two being the answer to the ultimate question, which happened to be "what is six times nine?" Corresponding to this logic, the name "Level 42" makes perfect sense.

Because 2 is 1/2 of 4 and they are even numbers so it's "level"

Hell I don't know, but I loved that "something about you" song so much when I was a kid. I listened to it over and over. And that video when he was that disturbing clown was weird too.
