Humans can achieve profound happiness by worshiping the only true God, Jehovah. Universal peace is only a possibility if God's Kingdom, with his son Jesus as king, takes action to correct all that went wrong since Adam, which it will in the near future.

If human beings can achieve a deep sense of contentment with life and sense a connection to all others then it would seem peace just might be possible. but we know that will never happen.
now all people do is:
1) PICK A RELIGION
2) PRACTICE IT AND BELIEVE WHOLE HARTEDLY
3) CONVERT (OR KILL) THE NON-BELIEVERS
4) REPEAT 2 & 3.
it tends to cause conflict sometimes.

First of all happiness is a sham. People are never truly "happy". We can be content with our lives and we can appreciate what we have, we can love our families- but that's not what the media has proclaimed "happiness". Why can't we achieve happiness? Because there's always something that's going to happen around the corner. People act like they have the perfect life and are happy, but everyone has their own demons and sadness to fight. There will never be world peace because it is prophesied. But if you want to get technical, there can't be world peace because everyone shares different ideas of what makes them happy. Terrorists get their jollies from killing people who don't share their beliefs because they believe it earns them a special place in heaven. Serial killers get happy from murdering people, and he will do it to get a "happy high". Sex offenders will continue to get happy from molesting young kids. Even every day people share different ideas of happiness- one person gets a thrill out of buying expensive things, while another person gets happy from giving a present to someone in need. Because all of these things make different people happy, we as a world will never have peace...

Figure out exactly what you desire. Get it. Enjoy it.
Contentment and peace are only in the individual.
There is a part of human nature that must have conflict in order to function day to day. Some overcome it, most never will.

Peace and contentment are at the heart of every human's purpose in life:
1. You were created to pursue your happiness and joy at all costs. Not to be selfless, or self-depriving.
2. You were created to derive your absolute joy from something much bigger than you. (Example: People love to go to the ocean, the Grand Canyon, stare at the stars, look at photos of gas giants in space that are millions of light-years across.)
3. You glorify what you love (or derive your joy from) most. (Example: a man praising his mistress, a food fan praising his favorite meal, etc.) Therefore, things or people are most glorified by those who are the most pleased or satisfied by those things or people.
4. You were created by God to derive your absolute joy and pleasure from Him. In this, He is most glorified by you when you are most satisfied and pleased in Him.
It's the best of both worlds. You get absolute joy, peace, and contentment, and He gets the glory. This is why people so often get in wrong, when they think that in order to please God, they have to live an unhappy life that's void of pleasure.

Live and love as each day is the last, give up petty grievances, and
forget about things we cannot control
if universal peace was possible, we would probably be closer, don't ya think?

Not possible. . Given human nature, we need conflict, we need a challenge. Humanity can't exist without it.
