when you have intense feelings toward a very nice girl.. but when you spend sometime away, this feeling fades away..
is it infatuation.. OR a starting love feeling that needs effort to keep it alive?
is it real or temporary because of the need to be loved?
or maybe it is just respect?

It's called being male, it's in your evolutionary programming.
For reference, the working definition of LOVE that I use is this: When your happiness is utterly dependent on the happiness of another person, it's love. Meaning, if you know that someone is unhappy or hurting and the urge to help them and make the happy again practically consumes you, it's love.
Sounds like what you have is a strong attraction. Nothing wrong with that, and sure it can grow into something else.

it's called infatuation baby... because if it was love, you would feel those strong feelings all the time not just sometime and it will never fade. Tell the person how you feel, because sometimes infatuation can turn into love. You never know until you let your true feelings for that person show. But if it comes and goes, then it's not really that serious. Good Luck!

I dont know... But I think that it was just some kind of infatuation... If it was love, it should stay.... In my experience, I loved this girl without her knowing and then I moved away for my studies.. years have passed and my feelings for her didnt fade... Now were together and very much in love.....

Sounds like infatuation, if the feeling faded away. If it was love, they'd be on your mind the whole time you were apart, and looking forward to seeing her once you got back.

I think it is just a simple crush... If it was love your feelings would not go away. She would always be on your mind, She would be the first thing you think of waking up and the last thing you think of when you go to sleep.
