Contact your local small business association. They often have such programs in place, as well as classes that can teach you how to write a business plan and other essential information.

Without a good business plan, no one except maybe your family or friends (who don't know any better) is going to invest.

But quite frankly, without the plan, your odds of succeeding even with money are slim because the plan is how you illustrate you've thought it all out and figured out your budget, where and how you'll get customers, and what milestones by which you can guage success.

Good luck.

What’s your idea? Many have good ideas. What makes your idea better than the next guys. Its important to remember that American Idol and like minded shows are not indicative of real life and business. You must find a way to make your ideas happen. Do this through small goals that lead to larger goals like a stair case or ladder. I believe if you will take the time and patients to invest in your self with education and experience you will not need someone else to invest in you. Also you could patent you idea (this will cost you) and then market said idea to companies in related fields but again this will take time and money.

wait...you are saying not only can you not afford to do what you want to, but you don't know how to do it as well?
see, when seeking funding for a project you can't show that there are kinds of problems. investors want sound investments, and so they need to have faith in the person and "think" there are no problems with the plan. saying you don't know how to do what you want to do with their money is problem in the plan. so next time BS your investors, and seek help secretly.
